In comparison to traditional solutions such as standard cable glands the cable density is greatly increased. Furthermore, the required mounting time is considerably shorter compared to multiple cable glands, since only one cut-out has to be made for several dozen lines and only one cable entry plate has to be installed. This combined with a reduction of required space make the icotek cable entry plate solution a great choice.
The icotek cable entry plates are available in many different series in round and rectangular designs. With 8 to 14.5 mm mounting height, they build very flat and have a smooth and even surface. Dirt recesses are thereby prevented, the cable entry plates are thus also suitable for applications in medical technology, food packaging or clean room areas. In addition, icotek cable entry plates are detergent resistant (ECOLAB certified).
The cable entry plates consist of a robust hard frame made of plastic or metal which is completely moulded with elastomer. At the cable entry plate front there are pierceable membranes for various cable diameters, on the back there are conical cable sleeves to ensure a double sealing of the cables with certified protection class up to IP68 (acc to. EN 60529) and UL Type 4X* (acc to UL50 E). This unique grommet design also provides a good strain relief.
Depending on the model, it can be either mounted with screws, simply plugged into the cut-out without tools, or be fixed with a locknut. The required cut-outs are either metric standard cut-outs (M20 - M85) or correspond to standard cut-outs of 16- and 24-pin heavy-duty connectors. The assembly of the cable entry plates can be done within seconds. Simply put a small slit into the thin membrane and push the cable through. Check out our assembly video and convince yourself.
